Liam Payne's debut solo album receives its official release date. Fans can listen to the singer's new songs on Sept. 14.

On Tuesday, May 15, the former member of One Direction appeared on Good Morning America and shared an update about his yet-to-be-titled album.

"It is out on the 14th of September, I can tell you that much. I'm really happy with it, it's come out really nice," said Payne.

Other details about the album are still under wraps, but Payne collaborated with Quavo, Zedd, and J. Balvin on some of his tracks.

In related news, Payne and J. Balvin also performed on Good Morning America as part of the daytime talk show's Summer Concert Series in New York's Central Park. The two artists sang "Familiar" while Payne also sang his hit song "Strip That Down."

Liam Payne Opens Up About One Direction

Before hitting the stage, Payne was asked about One Direction.

"I'm sure there's time for that to come back around. And the more success we have on our own, the more success we're going to have together in the future. We're like The Avengers - if you want Spiderman to sort something out, he sorts it out. But then The Hulk will go, 'Well, I'll sort this out.' It's one of those things," explained Payne.

One Direction Takes A Break

One Direction announced its hiatus in 2016. The members of the British boy band said that they are merely on a break and have not officially disbanded.

During their hiatus, Payne, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson released their individual music.

Why Did The Boy Band Go On Hiatus?

Last year, Styles explained the band members' decision to go their separate ways temporarily.

"I didn't want to exhaust our fan base. If you're shortsighted, you can think, 'Let's just keep touring,' but we all thought too much of the group than to let that happen. You realize you're exhausted and you don't want to drain people's belief in you," said Styles.

One Direction was formed in 2010 after the members of the group auditioned for The X-Factor UK separately. Judge Simon Cowell decided to put them in a group, and they finished third on the show.

Since then, One Direction has released several albums and hit songs, namely, Made in the A.M., Perfect, Four, Midnight Memories, Take Me Home, and Up All Night.

Their hit songs include "Story of My Life," "Drag Me Down," "Best Song Ever," and "What Makes You Beautiful."
