American indie pop band Lucius has vocally expressed their disappointment online for being not credited on one of Harry Styles's hit music.

Harry Styles' 2019 track "Treat People With Kindness" prominently featured the four-piece band composed of Jess Wolfe, Holly Laessig, Dan Molad, and Peter Lalish.

Lucius Not Credited On 'Treat People With Kindness'

Although their high-pitched vocals were heard predominantly heard all over the track, Harry Styles did not tag the indie-pop band as a featured artist on the record nor on Spotify.

According to a Los Angeles Times interview, Lucius said they were "disappointed" at Harry Styles for not crediting them properly.

"If it's just "oohs" and "aahs," it's not a big deal and it's a good opportunity for us. But we started singing, and we were singing the whole chorus," they elaborated.

Although the band was present in the studio with the 28-year-old singer, they were initially instructed to work on an entirely different track.

Later on, Styles asked the ensemble to record the chorus of "Treat People With Kindness," which they happily did.

"We thought he was gonna add on top after and that we'd be in the background. We start the song, we sing every chorus, just us. We trade off the bridge. It is us and Harry Styles. Harry Styles and us," Lucius co-founder Holly Laessig recounted.

Aside from the collaboration with the track, the group has also performed side-by-side with the former One Direction member at The Forum following the release of "Fine Line."

The indie band hoped that the GRAMMY-winning artist would have helped them by crediting them on the record.

In a separate Variety interview, Lucius double downed on their non-inclusion in the track, claiming that "they didn't want to credit us [them] as being featured on the record."

"We never spoke to Harry about this or anything. It's been one of the moments that's really sort of hurt us because here's this opportunity," they said.

However, it is important to note that Lucius was credited on the track, but only on the liner notes. The official credits even misspelled the name of Jess Wolfe, Lucius' co-founder.

As of writing, Harry Styles has not commented on the issue despite repeatedly making the headlines this year.
