Born on May 18, 1975, and raised in Hawaii, Jack Johnson was the son of well-known surfer Jeffery Johnson. He pursued this lifestyle but eventually gave this up after sustaining a massive injury that caused him to have 100 stitches on his forehead.

Formerly known as a professional surfer, Jack Johnson is a degree holder in Film Studies from the University of California in Santa Barbara.

Growing up, Jack learned to play the guitar at a young age, which he then sought as he take on gigs for Soil while studying at University.

Later on, Jack break through the music scene when he wrote for and contributed vocals for one of the songs from G. Love's 1999 album "Philadelphonic."

Jack Johnson Now 2022: New Album 'Meet the Moonlight'

Blake Mills, who helped Johnson produce the album called the song "one of the most spiritually interesting things" he has ever worked on.

"Meet the Moonlight" is slated for release on Jun 24, 2022, via Brushfire/Republic Records. The title track follows the release of the lead single "One Step Ahead" last month.
