Since Harry Styles shot to fame during his One Direction days, many fans have been comparing him to The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger because of their fashion choice and way of expressing themselves. Today, the rock legend has finally reacted to all the comparisons he's been getting for years.

In a recent interview with The Times U.K., the iconic musician was, yet again, asked about the topic of being compared to the "Watermelon Sugar" hitmaker.

Jagger clarified that he likes the singer and they have an "easy relationship," but he explained that he used to wear a lot more eye make-up than Styles.

He also noted that he's "much more androgynous" than the young singer.

"He doesn't have a voice like mine or move on stage like me; he just has a superficial resemblance to my younger self, which is fine. He can't help that," he added. (via Rolling Stone)

Styles has been open about his love and admiration for the rock legend throughout the years, citing him as one of his major influences.

In his music video for "As It Was," the former One Direction singer collaborated with fashion designer Arturo Obegero to create an outfit inspired by Jagger.

Styles has also labeled the rocker "the coolest man on the planet."

However, despite the young singer's admiration, Jagger has been dismissive of Styles.

In a 2015 interview, Jagger said, "He's got it going on. I know him, he comes to see me in lots of shows. And yeah, I can see the influence. But I don't say anything to him, I just tell him he looks nice. I like him. He's very decent."

Mick Jagger Opens Up About Charlie Watts' Death

Elsewhere in the 2022 interview, the rocker also opened up about the death of Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts, saying he had a lot of reflection after his passing.

Jagger said he's been thinking about him, not only during rehearsals but in other ways too.

"I would have phoned him up and talked about last night's Arsenal game because he supported Tottenham, and I'm Arsenal. I miss him as a player and as a friend," he said.

A few months ago, Charlie Watts' spokesperson confirmed his death in a statement, saying the drummer passed away peacefully in a London hospital surrounded by his family.

The musician was 80 years old.
