Roger Waters got himself into a feud with some famous artists' fans out of the blue.

In a recent interview, Pink Floyd's frontman stated that he is "far, much more important" than Drake and The Weeknd. While the mentioned artists did not react, their fans naturally cannot take this statement.

The 78-year-old music icon said this after The Weeknd's show in Toronto received greater media notice than his.

The Super Bowl Half Time performer began his "After Hours Til Dawn" stadium tour on July 8, which coincided with one of Waters' performances.

"I have no idea what or who The Weeknd is because I don't listen to much music," he told The Globe and Mail, noting it "seemed off." He added that when he was told The Weeknd was a "big act," he wished him good luck.

He added that he really got nothing against the artist. However, in the next breath, he also said that he is far more important that the singer, and even the rapper Drake, another Toronto icon.

"And, by the way, with all due respect to The Weeknd or Drake or any of them. I am far, far, far more important than any of them will ever be, however many billions of streams they've got. There is stuff going on here that is fundamentally important to all of our lives," he said.

Several fans responded to his statements on social media. Many said he has grown too arrogant.

"I love Roger Waters, and Pink Floyd is one of my all time favorite bands, but this seems like an 'old man yells at cloud' moment," one Twitter user wrote, while another said, "i love roger waters and i think he's done some amazing things , but that was like 50 years ago. take a step down."

However, the statistics may speak for themselves: 11 of Drake's songs have reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, he has won four Grammys, and 67 million Spotify users listen to his music each month on average.

Meanwhile, The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights" is the number one Billboard Hot 100 song of all time, he has four Grammys, and he averages 75 million monthly Spotify listeners. In comparison, Waters had a UK number-one single, six UK number-one albums, and a Grammy with Pink Floyd.

He averages 550,000 monthly Spotify listeners as a solo artist.

The Weeknd and Drake are also great buddies. According to a press release, Drake referred to The Weeknd as "his brother since day one" and "one of the best f*cking artists of all time." The two went on to play their hit songs "Crew Love" and "Live For" at concerts.

When Drake was working on the Take Care album, The Weeknd ended up contributing a few songs. Drake promptly dispelled the rumors that they were stealing from one another, which began to circulate.
