Travis Barker rose to prominence as the drummer of the iconic rock band Blink-182, however, these days he's been gracing headlines due to his relationship with Kourtney Kardashian-much to the fans' dismay.
The musician just turned 47 years old, and there are still speculations on whether he plans to return to his first love-music.
Barker received his first drum set when he was four years old, and began drum lessons at that time. He quickly fell in love with the instrument and has been playing it since then, reports say.
His mother encouraged him to pursue his dreams and music. She passed away when he entered high school.
Following her advice, Barker began taking music more seriously, and gained more exposure and experience. He eventually joined the iconic rock band Blink-182.
His hard work and dedication paid off when the band found mainstream success in 1999 following their third studio album, "Enema of the State."
He along with Blink-182 found massive success and was one of the most prominent bands in the pop-punk scene.

Ventures
Aside from his projects with the band, Barker also dabbled in solo ventures. He started "Famous Stars & Straps," a clothing line he launched in 1999, and founded "LaSalle Records," a record label, in 2004.
In 2016, he published a memoir entitled "Can I Say: Living Large, Cheating Death, and Drums, Drums, Drums." This comes a few years after a freak plane accident that caused the death of several individuals and injured the drummer and DJ AM.
According to reports, Barker and DJ AM were aboard a plane that had "faulty tires." The 2008 plane crash nearly killed the drummer, but he lived to tell the tale.
However, in recent years, Barker is no longer actively participating in making music. He has kept mostly to himself, until he shocked the world by announcing that he was in a relationship with reality star Kourtney Kardashian.
New Love
In January 2021, news of Barker dating the eldest Kardashian sister came about. Fans found the couple an odd pairing, but it seemed like they were deeply in love and cared for one another.
According to reports, they got engaged that same year, and informally tied the knot in Las Vegas after attending the 2022 Grammy Awards.
In May, they held a formal wedding ceremony in Santa Barbara, California.
Although fans were happy for the drummer for finally finding love again, many questioned the reality star's role in Barker's music career.
Fans suspect that she might be the reason why he is taking a break from music, however, other fans thank her for making the Blink-182 world tour possible.
Barker admitted that he still had some fear of flying after his accident, however, Kardashian was allegedly the one who helped him get better.
Barker's net worth is approximately $50 million.
