In the past few years, celebrities and musicians have had different ways of signifying that they are about to release new content and music.

While some release teasers on different social media channels, others opt for a more mysterious and elusive feel - social media blackout.

Blacking out one's social media may come in many forms. Others archive or deletes their existing posts, and some change their profile photos to black.

For Jennifer Lopez, she did both - hiding her old posts and changing her profile photo to black.

This is the case on her Instagram account, but for her Twitter, her old tweets remained undeleted.

Shortly after this happened, her loyal fans started tweeting #JLOisComing, which instantly became a trending topic worldwide.

Fans are already in unison on Twitter about what the blackout meant - her music comeback!

According to Variety, Lopez's representatives have not yet responded to any comments about what the move signified, but fans are pretty sure that this was the actual case.

In the past, bands like The 1975, musicians like Megan Thee Stallion, and even Taylor Swift has gone to lengths of signifying their upcoming releases on the slightest changes on their social media accounts.

JLO's TikTok account profile photo was also changed to black, but her videos remain intact.

If one checks the website that is listed on JLO's Instagram account, it would just lead to a landing page asking visitors to subscribe to her newsletter, "On the JLO."

For those who don't know, JLO's last album was released in 2014, "AKA."

Last year, she performed with Shakira at the 2021 Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Performance, along with her daughter, among many others. The behind-the-scenes footage of her performance was shot and was released on her own Netflix documentary titled "Halftime."

The flick was released on the streaming giant earlier this year. Actually, JLO is also bound to release another romantic comedy film with Owen Wilson, "Marry Me," for release on December 2022.

Jennifer Lopez is also under a multiyear deal with Netflix as she stars as an assassin on "The Mother," to be released on the same platform.
