2022 was a big year for Bad Bunny, and it seems like he's going nowhere but up and he will be bringing Latin music straight to everyone's playlists.

This year is no different, it's still the year of the rabbit because Bad Bunny was named Spotify's most-streamed global artist for the third time in a row, and it looks like there's nothing stopping the Latino hit maker from world domination.

2022 might just be considered as Bad Bunny's year, because he took the entire world by storm and left fans wanting more.

In November, the Puerto Rican artist win five out of his 10 Latin Grammy Award nominations, including Best Urban Music Album for "Un Verano Sin Ti", Best Urban/Fusion Performance and Best Urban Song for "Titi Me Pregunto," Best Reggaeton Performance for "Lo Siento BB:/" while "De Museo" won Best Rap/Hip-Hop Song.

Obviously, the 28-year-old's awards and accolades are accounted for, because his music is well-received and loved by both critics and fans.

According to resorts, "Un Verano Sin Ti" proved to be a pivotal album for the artist because it amassed over 18.5 billion streams on Spotify.

"Me Porto Bonito" was ranked fourth, while "Titi Me Pregunto" ranked fifth in Spotify's most-streamed songs globally, making him the only artist to have more than one song on the list this year.

Latin Music Take-Over

The world has seen a growth and interest in Latin music in recent years. According to Insider, the streaming stats for Latin music has seen a dramatic increase in 2022.

While some may attribute several other artists like Shakira, Rosalia, and Christina Aguilera or even Jennifer Lopez for the sudden rise of Latin music, many would credit Bad Bunny's role in its acceleration in 2022.

Although it should be noted that the way has been paved for newer artists like Bad Bunny, thanks to other Latino artists like Shakira and Ricky Martin, to name a few.

"Latin music is now firmly entrenched in the musical landscape and it will only grow," said Leila Cobo, the vice president of Latin at Billboard.

The genre is slowly but surely gaining more and more traction and attention from global listeners, and Bad Bunny, along with other Latin hit makers, is at the forefront of the Latin music genre.
