Kelly Clarkson is baring her soul with her forthcoming album.

After months of teasing her new album, Clarkson is ready to finally dish out on all the details about "Chemistry."

For one, she finally explained why she named her album "Chemistry." "I was trying to find a word that really described the whole thing," She explained.

"Because I didn't want everybody to think I was coming out with some, like, 'I'm angry. I'm sad.' Just one or two emotions."

Long Time Coming

The album will mark her first music release since her divorce from her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock in 2022.

And while she did not explicitly say it's about her relationship with him and the aftermath of their divorce, it seemed to allude to that.

"This album is definitely the arc of an entire relationship. A whole relationship shouldn't just be brought down to one thing...Chemistry can be a really amazing, sexy, cool, fun thing, but it can also be bad for you. So that's why I named it Chemistry. I thought it was kinda the perfect title."

'Chemistry'

The album has been in the works for three years already, which dates back to the time she and Blackstock filed for divorce in 2020, and by all means, it seemed like Clarkson took her time curating and producing an album that will go through all her experiences.

And since the album will be rooted in deep emotions, the "Since U Been Gone" singer revealed that they worked on several songs through the entire process.

"My producer and I were laughing yesterday because I was like, 'Remember that time we wrote, like, 25 songs in a week?'" She laughed. "A lot of those are the ones that are on the album."

"I literally wrote most of these almost two years ago. Then I told my label, 'I can't talk about this until I've gone through it,'" she explained. "And it's just taken some time to do that. That's one of the reasons we've done a lot of Christmas stuff the past two years - because I was like, 'Well, that's happy!'"

According to reports, Clarkson did not disclose when the album will be released, only that fans should look forward to it because it will be available "really soon."
