Directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, the Disney Animated movie "Moana" was well-received by fans all over the world.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Johnson will return as Maui, the same character he voiced in the 2016 film. It will be produced by him via his Seven Bucks Productions with Hiram and Dany Garcia.

The current production team is still in the works too. Beau Flynn will produce via Flynn Picture Co., while Jared Bush is back with Dana Ledoux Miller to write the screenplay of the "Moana" Live-Action Movie.

'Moana' Live Action Movie Cast

As of this writing, the "Moana" Live-Action Movie cast has yet to be announced.

However, Auli'i Cravalho, who previously voiced the lead character "Moana" in the animated film in 2016, is set to be executive produce with Scott Sheldon of Flynn Picture Co. Although it has not been confirmed if she will also reprise her role in the film, she would be an excellent candidate for the role, given his Polynesian roots. (via The Hollywood Reporter)

Cravalho also has a background in becoming a live-action princess, as she was cast as Ariel in ABC's "The Little Mermaid Live!"

It is still not known if Nicole Scherzinger, Alan Tudyk, and Jemaine Clement will be reprising their voice-acting roles. Casting Scherzinger can also be a possibility for the live-action given her acting and vocal chops.
