David Crosby is one of the most beloved icons in music. That is why when he passed away earlier this year, the entire music community was shocked to hear of his passing.

However, it wasn't until now that details about his death have been revealed. According to Graham Nash, Crosby's longtime friend, and collaborator, David Crosby's real cause of death has finally been revealed.

David Crosby Real Cause of Death

In an interview with Nash on the Kyle Meredith With... podcast, he spilled what caused his friend's death.

"After three days of rehearsals, he felt a little sick. And he'd already had COVID, and he had COVID again. And so he went home and decided that he would take a nap, and he never woke up. But he died in his bed, and that is fantastic," he told the podcast.

At the time, David Crosby's cause of death was attributed to "long illness," but was never defined by his family. It was also Crosby's second time contracting the fatal disease.

Per Nash, the fact that David Crosby made it to 81 years old was "astonishing." He then described David Crosby's death as a "shock," saying it was an "earthquake."

"These aftershocks kept coming up, and they're diminishing in size as I go along," he continued after saying that the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was "lucky" to have lived longer.

David Crosby passed away last Jan. 19, 2023.

Right before his death, the two estranged friends and collaborators were already supposed to make peace with each other. Nash even revealed that Crosby extended an olive branch months prior to his death.

In an interview with AARP Magazine, Nash confessed that it was painful for him to reflect on the bad times that they had both gone through in the past.

"The fact is that we were getting a little closer at the end. He had sent me a voicemail saying that he wanted to talk to apologize, and could we set up a time to talk," he told the magazine.

When Nash responded, he instructed Crosby to call him the other day; however, Crosby died before he could even pick up the phone to call him back.

The two had a falling out decades ago, attributed to Crosby's alleged boastful and prideful attitude.
