Richie added that he had known King Charles for a long time, saying that he will join in the celebration as the monarchy officially welcomes its new king.

Despite being the longest-waiting king-in-waiting before Queen Elizabeth II's death, King Charles' new role reportedly causes Lionel to feel anxious as the singer wants to see what he is going to change.

Still, the crooner called the king "a wonderful person."

The magazine also asked him what he is looking forward to most at the coronation concert, to which he said he is excited to "see all the lights."

Who Are The Other Performers At King Charles' Coronation Concert?

In the weekend announcement, BBC said the concert will "celebrate a new chapter in the nation's history, with themes of love, respect and optimism, celebrating the four nations, their communities and the Commonwealth."

Aside from Richie, Katy Perry, Take That, Andrea Bocelli, Alexis Ffrench, Freya Ridings, and Sir Bryn Terfel officially joined the lineup.

BBC Studios Productions is responsible for organizing the concert. The network will stream the concert live on its different channels, including BBC Sounds, BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio 2, and BBC One.

It added that more performers would be confirmed soon.

The announcement came after a news outlet cited The Sun's report revealing that Elton John, Harry Styles, and The Spice Girls would no longer be making an appearance due to conflicting schedules.

Buckingham Palace reportedly tried to tap Ed Sheeran and Adele. However, both singers could not make it, as well.
