Kellie Pickler has been struggling to cope with the suicide of her husband, Kyle Jacobs, in February.

The tragic event caused her to abandon her radio show on a national level.

A confidante told the National Enquirer, "It's just impossible for Kellie to be chipper and optimistic when her heart is still broken."

According to an insider, presenting on Sirius XM's "The Highway" show proved too overwhelming a task for a 36-year-old widow struggling with grief.

Reports indicate that she has gone into seclusion to make sense of her recent losses and come to terms with her husband's concealed mental state before his death.

For Kellie, 2023 was a pivotal year - she envisioned going on tour in addition to her radio job. Unfortunately, this dream dramatically changed when her accomplished songwriter husband passed away in their Nashville residence.

"The Best Day of Your Life" singer reportedly takes a break from her career to focus on herself and heal. She is being supported by friends and family who believe this is the right choice for her.

This comes after her husband had a hand in writing multiple hits, including Garth Brooks' "More Than a Memory" and other singles for George Strait, Tim McGraw, and Wynonna Judd. A friend said: "Now Kellie's cleared her schedule."

"Kellie wants time to heal and be alone with her thoughts. Her loved ones tell her she's doing the right thing. She needs to concentrate on herself - not her career."
