The Cure will launch its first US tour since 2019, and the band assured fans it would offer cheaper ticket prices.

Fans finally received good news from The Cure when it announced the North American leg of its upcoming Lost World Tour. The band added that it would offer no platinum nor dynamically priced tickets to make the seats more affordable to fans by using Ticketmaster's Verified Fan Program.

However, criticisms barged back when the company continued to charge higher due to its additional fees.

The Cure's Shows Will Have Cheaper Tickets, Reeves Gabrels Says

After the issue of fair ticketing rose, The Cure frontman Robert Smith said a refund would be given back to verified fan accounts that bought tickets. Those who will purchase tickets for future shows can acquire passes at cheaper prices.

Resonating with what the singer said, The Cure guitarist Reeves Gabrels explained during an interview with Ultimate Classic Rock and Culture how the band came up with the decision to keep tickets as affordable as possible.

According to Gabrels, the bandmates discussed it and maintained being a self-managed band. Despite ticketing issues, The Cure has reportedly tried to keep tickets under $50 - and it continues to try to have the same range in its upcoming shows.

"And if there's one thing about Robert that I have found to be consistently true, [it's] his "stick to it"-ness. ... What he's comfortable with, he will definitely fight for," Gabrels said of Smith. "And what's nice about that is it's all about the fans. There's no bigger Cure fan in the world other than Robert. He thinks about it like a fan."

The news outlet also noted how The Cure frontman highlighted the musicians' capacity to take the same steps and have control over the ticketing for their tours.

Gabrels then applauded his bandmate's approach to dealing with such issues, calling him a "principled man."
