Ben Platt is waving to bigger opportunities in the coming months and years as he recently signed a deal with Interscope Records for his future music releases. Very recently, the actor scored his second Tony nomination for his outstanding performance in the revival production of "Parade" on Broadway.

Unbeknownst to many, Platt is an Oscar away from achieving EGOT status, as he already has a Grammy, an Emmy, and a Tony on his belt.

Ben Platt, Interscope Records Partnership

According to Billboard, Platt has been in the studio making music for what is expected to be his new album. As of this writing, the date hasn't been confirmed, but there would be one soon.

Aside from being managed by Interscope for his future music releases, the deal also includes Platt having to have his own imprint within Interscope Records.

For those who don't know what an Imprint is, it is simply a division or a project under a record label that caters to a specific genre, leaving the work of distributing, marketing and copyrighting to the said unit.

Interscope CEO John Janick spoke fondly of Platt in a statement, saying he is "an extraordinary artist in every way"

"He's as comfortable on a Broadway stage as he is headlining Madison Square Garden. We're so excited to have him on the label and are looking forward to working with him and his team on his future releases," he furthered.

Very recently, Platt has been on tour for his second album, "Reverie." This album and his debut single, "Sing to Me Instead" was released via Atlantic Records.

Platt is now on the same label as Lady Gaga, Lana Del Rey, Kendrick Lamar, Olivia Rodrigo, Selena Gomez, and Billie Eilish, among many others.

Ben Platt EGOT Status

The big move might also mean more opportunities for the award-winning singer. Notably, Platt is an Oscar away from achieving EGOT status.

He already has a Tony Award for playing the titular role in "Dear Evan Hansen." He is also nominated for the second time in the Best Leading Actor in a Musical category in "Parade" for the 2023 Tony Awards.

Platt earned his first gramophone when the Official Broadway Cast Recording of "Dear Evan Hansen" won the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album at the 2018 Grammys.

In the same year, Platt earned his Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Musical Performance in a Daytime Program after performing "You Will Be Found" on The Today Show.

With artists like Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish in Interscope Records winning Best Original Song at the Oscars, the possibilities for Platt are endless as he might find himself being nominated and winning in the same category, too!
