Ben Platt Broadway Residency Details

According to a Variety report, Tony Award-winning actor and singer Ben Platt will have an 18-show Broadway residency at the Palace Theatre.

"Like my foremothers Liza and Judy before me, it is far beyond my wildest imagination to announce that I'll be playing a 3-week concert residency at the Palace on Broadway," he announced on Instagram. "I feel perpetually blessed to be part of the theatre community, and to have the opportunity to perform as myself and from my own perspective in this newly reopened, storied Broadway house is one of the greatest honors of my life."

Tony-winning director Michael Arden, who worked with Platt on the 2023 Broadway revival of "Parade," will direct his three-week concert show. It is currently scheduled to run from May 28, 2024, to June 15, 2024.

Reportedly, "Ben Platt Live at the Palace" will showcase Platt's amazing repertoire, including his songs "Reverie," "Sing to Me Instead," and " a few surprises."

Ben Platt 'Honeymind' New Album

Ben Platt's Broadway residency supports his upcoming new album, "Honeymind," which will be released on May 31, 2024.

Broadway World reported that the said album was written over the past two years across Nashville, Savannah, Los Angeles, and New York. Platt noted that the album was inspired by a hike that he took with his fiancee and fellow "Dear Evan Hansen" actor Noah Galvin. Both Platt and Galvin played the titular role on Broadway during its original run. They also starred together in the 2023 film "Theatre Camp" along with Molly Gordon and Ayo Edebiri, among many others.

"One day I ate some mushroom chocolate and went on a hike with the love of my life," Platt recalled on Instagram. "As we walked and took in our surroundings, he could see how happy I was and asked me to describe the feeling. I looked up at the ceiling of treetops, hundreds of rays of golden light were pouring through all the tiny gaps in the leaves like a shimmering pattern.

The "Dear Evan Hansen" actor already released the lead single for the album, "Andrew," last weekend.
