John 5 revealed that he experienced the hardest phase before he joined Motley Crue.

Among the guitarists in the music industry, Motley Crue tapped John 5 to become its new touring guitarist who could replace Mick Mars. The original guitarist decided to be away from the touring spotlight to focus on his worsening health issue.

While Motley Crue members and other musicians approved John 5 to become the new guitarist, he reportedly faced the hardest part of joining another band.

The guitarist recently appeared in a new interview on SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk" during which he detailed his exit from Rob Zombie and official addition to Motley Crue.

According to John 5, he found it hard to tell Zombie about his move after working with the shock rocker's band for 17 years. He admitted to feeling worried that starting his new career might damage their friendship; however, he had to do so.

"I called Rob and I said, 'This is what's happening.' And we did a show, Louder Than Life, together, and that was my last show [with Zombie... But [there] was no bad blood or anything; it wasn't anything bad. It wasn't dramatic or anything," John 5 disclosed. "And Rob was super cool. He was, like, 'Hey, I get it.' He was cool about it."

He expressed how much he misses talking to Zombie and texting him, with the guitarist adding that it would break his heart if he does not text him back or reply.

John 5 Received Text From Mick Mars

After Motley Crue formally announced his spot in the band, John 5 reportedly received a text message from Mars in which the original guitarist told him he would "going to kill it."

Mars, who is currently embroiled in a legal battle with his band for allegedly gaslighting him and kicking him out of the group, welcomed John 5 to the band and started to maintain a good relationship with his replacement.

Per John 5, he and Mars have nothing but great respect for each other.
