Tad Doyle does not think his band, TAD, will ever reunite again.

Doyle launched TAD in 1988, making the band one of the best groups in the grunge scene. While it never reached the peak of success that Nirvana and Pearl Jam savored, TAD still played a huge role in expanding the genre.

Twenty years after the split, Doyle shared his thoughts about the potential reunion and explained why he thought it would never happen.

TAD Never Reuniting, Tad Doyle Says

In an interview with Audio Ink Radio, Doyle revealed that he had been receiving queries from people regarding TAD's reunion. While fans approved of it, the founder revealed it would not happen anymore.

"That was a chunk of my life that I had, the things that I did in my life built up to that," he said. "And I'm a different person now, as far as my experiences and where I've been and my music that I wanna take my music."

Doyle added that he always wants to move forward and not backward. For the musician, it would ruin the band's short-lived legacy that they worked hard on if they did a reunion or other TAD-related projects.

He candidly spoke about losing "passion" while performing with TAD, saying that the shows it did for more than half a year annually became more of a job instead due to the repetitive lifestyle it caused.

As an established musician, Doyle said he never wanted it to happen; thus, he does not think they need a reunion or play.

TAD Never Became Popular

The rise of bands in the past few decades let groups outshine others. During the interview, Doyle acknowledged that what his band reached was not the level of mainstream popularity other grunge bands scored.

Despite that, the singer said he is happy TAD never became so popular due to the spotlight it would have caused. For Doyle, being invisible is what makes him happy.

After the formation of TAD in 1988, it ultimately became one of the first bands to sign with Sub Pop label. The Bruce Pavitt and Jonathan Poneman-founded label led the group to release an EP and two other albums.

It moved on with another major label before dropping its 1993 project, "Inhaler."

However, TAD found itself at a silent pace as other groups - including Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, and Soundgarden - scored the most spotlights. Years later, TAD called it quits.
