Enhancement surgery is a topic most artists tiptoe around, however, unlike other celebrities, SZA is not afraid to talk about her Brazilian butt lift.

"I didn't succumb to industry pressure," the "Kill Bill" singer explained why she had surgery to get a bigger booty. "I succumbed to my own eyes in the mirror and being like, 'No, I need some more a*s.'"

The confirmation from the 33-year-old hitmaker comes several months after she first hinted about her enhanced butt in a song.

In "SOS," the title track of her sophomore album, she sang: "So classic/ that ass so fat, it look natural/ it's not."

In another song, "Conceited," SZA also addressed the rumors surrounding her body: "I just got my body done, ain't got no guilt about it/ I just heard your opinion/ I could've did without it."

Industry Pressure

During her interview with Elle, SZA finally dished out what she thinks about plastic surgery and the industry's pressure to look a certain way.

"I treat my butt like a purse," the "SOS" singer simply stated. "It's just there to enhance whatever else. And that's why I paid for it because it works all by itself."

The writer of the Elle story also emphasized that the singer "made sure to note that the decision to have the surgery was hers alone."

This is not the first time SZA has faced and addressed plastic surgery allegations or rumors.

In 2018, she clapped back at the haters for accusing her of getting a nose job: "I don't really care about my nose, it's not a big deal, but what I didn't realize is when I was heavier, my entire face changed.

"I was heavier for three years and then my nose adjusted to that. I spent most of my life being slim before then, being in sports. And then I kept growing and I think my nose adjusted to my new face."

Her Own Thing

SZA is known to do her own thing, disregarding the industry pressure and standards.

She has expressed that it helps her "not to care too much" because she might just end up with disappointments after being "so invested."

She cited several examples, like winning a Grammy Award or selling out stadiums.

"Make sure you tell them I was in the air, and my mic was on," SZA said.
