Showrunner Sam Levinson and The Weeknd were heavily criticized for the unfiltered portrayal of explicit content, with some calling it "misogynistic."

Needless to say, viewers found themselves horrified by what they saw.

KPOP idol Jennie, a BLACKPINK member, has been criticized for her involvement in the much-talked-about show.

In it, she takes on the role of Dyanne, a backup dancer with rather risque moves.

This kind of performance breaks taboos in South Korea, where mainstream Korean pop idols rarely engage in risqué activities.

Reactions to Jennie's involvement in the HBO series were largely adverse from South Korea, with some calling it "pornography."

This was a shock, given her carefully cultivated image as an ambassador of brands such as Chanel. Consequently, many viewers felt that she had sullied her reputation by participating in this project.

In spite of being an ambassador for an luxury label, Jennie vanished without leaving any clues behind, although she has always been known to be graceful. That's what the Daily Navertranslation of the Korean article reported.

Jennie's fans are livid at her recent decision, with one remarking, "She completely annihilated what Blackpink had achieved by their own efforts."

Another fan stated, "It is hard to accept that she opted to execute that dance along with those motions and facial expressions."

One supporter expressed their disbelief when they saw the Korean popstar performing in such a low-quality drama, noting that the level of acting was almost too much to bear.

"It's so embarrassing," they said. "She won't be able to get her reputation back from here - it's totally gone down the drain now."

However, Jennie's appearance on "The Idol" show was widely acclaimed from some critics.

Glamour didn't mince words when they wrote, "There's One Good Reason to Watch The Idol, and Her Name Is Jennie."

In other news, BLACKPINK performed to a sold-out crowd at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena as part of their Born Pink World Tour.

However, while performing "Lovesick Girls," Jennie suddenly left the stage.

Rosé broke the news to the crowd that they would be finishing the concert without their co-singer and YG Entertainment had stated that she left in a rush due to health issuesand was now receiving medical attention.
