Tina Knowles defended her daughter, Beyoncé, after claims that she threw shade at Lizzo emerged.

Lizzo's world has been silent in the days after her former dancers filed a civil lawsuit against her, revealing sexual harassment and toxic work environment claims. Her A-list friends have also been relatively quiet as the world condemns the American rapper.

Did Beyoncé Skip Lizzo Intentionally?

Beyoncé performed at the Boston stop of her Renaissance World Tour Tuesday during which she performed some of her latest hits. She also gifted her fans a performance of her song, "Break My Soul (The Queens Remix)," but some thought she used it to throw shade at the now-controversial rapper.

In a now-viral video of the singer's performance on Twitter, now X, a user said the "CUFF IT" singer did not sing Lizzo's name in the track's lyrics.

While the concert's screens still showed Lizzo's name along with the other Black female entertainers like Lauryn Hill, Kelly Rowland, and Nina Simone, Beyoncé opted to repeat Erykah Badu's last name four times.

"Beyoncé reiterating Badu and skipping Lizzo... that's on hitting 2 birds with 1 stone," the user wrote.

Lizzo and her production company, Quigley, have been named defendants in the legal documents filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, NBC News reported. Meanwhile, the rapper responded to it through an Instagram post explaining why she is "not [a] villain" in the story.

After buzzes suggesting that Beyoncé threw shade at Lizzo, the "BREAK MY SOUL" crooner's mother dismissed them through an online post.

Tina Knowles Responds

On her Instagram page, Tina Knowles said her daughter did not shade Lizzo.

"She also didn't say her own sisters [Solange Knowles] name yal should really stop," she said, per Us Weekly.

Lizzo previously gave the "Beautiful Liar" singer a shoutout when she delivered her acceptance speech in February after winning the 2023 Record of the Year at the Grammys. She revealed that she skipped school when she was in fifth grade to see Beyoncé perform live.

Her former dancers' allegations included Lizzo allegedly pressuring them to watch a performance of nude dancers in Amsterdam and eat bananas placed in their private parts. One of the dancers also claimed the rapper made her touch a dancer's breast.
