Over the past two days, there have been rumors circulating about Britney Spears and her husband Sam Asghari's separation. Although Spears has yet to address it in her own terms, it has been confirmed recently that the actor has filed for divorce from his wife.

According to NBC News, the actor and fitness enthusiast filed a petition for divorce from his pop star wife just more than a year after they tied the knot in a private ceremony at the singer's home in California.

Asghari cited "irreconcilable differences" in the petition, which was filed in the Superior Court of Los Angeles earlier this week.

In addition, the legal documents also revealed that the actor is seeking spousal support from the "I Wanna Go" singer, as well as payment for attorneys' fees.

"Petitioner has yet to determine the full nature and extent of the separate property assets and obligations of each party," the document reads.
