Thy Art Is Murder surprised fans amid the release of their new album as they fired singer CJ McMahon following his controversial comments on social media; how did he react to it?

According to Kerrang!, the band issued a statement on their official Facebook page about their frontman confirming that he is "no longer a part" of the group and his vocals have been stripped off from the newly-released album.

It was noted by the outlet that the voice on "Godlike" had just re-recorded the tracks earlier this week.

"With an unforeseen change - Chris McMahon is no longer a part of Thy Art Is Murder and does not feature on the record," they wrote.

The band noted that the immediate decision might come as a shock to everyone but they wanted to assure their fans that their decision was "made to preserve the band's integrity and direction."

Thy Art Is Murder Shares Aftermath of CJ McMahon's Controversial Comments

The reason why CJ McMahon was fired and removed from the band was the controversial comments he made against trans folks.

Loudwire reported that the musician reposted a video clip by Matt Walsh which showed a mom asking her child they were a boy or a girl.

The kid answered "both" but McMahon was not pleased with it so he further commented that the child's mother should be "burned to death."
