When Diplo escaped the Burning Man Festival earlier this month, he probably never expected that that was going to be his defining moment.

According to People Magazine, while the musician was at a Raiders game in Las Vegas, he was briefly flashed on the huge screens with a label of his name followed by "Guy that Escaped Burning Man."

Diplo shared that specific instance on his Instagram and wrote, "Whoever is in charge of the Raiders jumbotron, we need to talk..."

"I make music too," he playfully added.

Diplo Escapes Burning Mas Festival With Chris Rock

Earlier this month, Diplo and Chris Rock trekked through five miles of mud after a heavy storm hit the Burning Man Festival grounds.

The musician took to social media to share some pictures and videos of his journey: "Just walked 5 miles in the mud out of Burning Man with Chris Rock and a fan picked us up."

In a different post, Diplo wrote: "I legit walked the side of the road for hours with my thumb out cuz I have a show in D.C. tonight and don't want to let y'all down. Also shout-out to this guy for making the smart purchase of a truck not knowing it was for this exact moment."

According to reports, thousands of festival goers were stranded at the Burning Man festival grounds following the storm, which turned the sand at the Nevada dessert into mud.

No vehicles could drive anywhere remotely close to the place of the event, and people had to either wait for help or walk for miles-which is exactly what Diplo and Rock did.

The Burning Man Festival resulted in one confirmed casualty.

Diplo Faces Backlash

After leaving Burning Man on foot, and sharing his experience online, netizens bashed Diplo and Rock for using their fame to their advantage.

"Anyone wondering what wealth privilege is? While many are trapped at Burning Man, no surprise the wealthy get out," an X (formerly known as Twitter) user wrote.

"While some celebrities like Diplo & Chris Rock were able to get out of Burning Man, Bryan Cranston is stuck in the mud with so many other RVs," another added.

On the other hand, some fans expressed their support: "A proper hike," one joked.

"There has never been a cooler story," another added.

While some netizens joked that the ride would have been pretty amusing, given Rock was there, too.
