People close to the star have revealed that during her six-year marriage to rapper Kanye West, she often spent considerable time on her own.
According to an informant who spoke to Life and Style magazine, during Kim and her then-husband's marriage, she experienced long stretches of loneliness.
They spent countless nights apart as he traveled to work on music or focused on individual projects.
But the fairytale romance between Kim and Kanye seemed to have finally come to a close when "The Kardashians" star officially filed for divorce in February 2021.
According to a source close to the couple, they had grown apart, and "too much had been said."
Both were struggling to rekindle their lost spark as their romantic connection had faded away.
Though Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's marriage has ended, the reality star expressed that she doesn't view it as a failure.
"Something I learned is that you cannot help people that don't want the help," referring to her ex-husband's anti-Semitic comments.
She added, "You can't force your beliefs and project that on someone who thinks something different."
"At the end of the day, everyone has a different point of view," she continued of their disparate political opinions. "But when our core values and beliefs conflict, then sometimes we need to recognize that there is no right or wrong answer here - life is too short to be with someone who does not share your same moral principles."

This comes after reports that Kanye West's new wife, Bianca Censori, voluntarily follows the rapper's strict rules, which include not speaking.
Kanye and Bianca have undoubtedly raised eyebrows with their headline-making antics - particularly when they were found in a rather indiscreet situation on a vessel in Venice.
The "Donda" rapper has now gone one step further by providing his partner with precise directions on how she should live her life.
According to a source, part of Kanye West's "grand plan" is for his Yeezy architect-turned-wife to follow a set of rules, which include not speaking and wearing whatever attire Kanye desires.
Remarkably, Bianca does not seem to mind this transformation into his ex-wife Kim Kardashian.
Those close to the situation revealed that Bianca follows Kanye's stringent regulations without question, such as how to dress, eat, and converse. Radar Online was also told that her behavior resembles a "robot."
Revealing the specifics of Kanye's stringent demands, an inside source told Daily Mail: "Kanye has expected Kim to follow a certain diet and workout regimen even though he chooses not to exercise."
The informant said: "Kim possesses no autonomy in her choices anymore as Kanye has persuaded her that they are living a regal lifestyle."
