Lizzo has been on the receiving end of immense backlash and fan outrage after several of her former co-workers and dancers have come forward to expose her.

Lizzo and her dance captain have been accused of sexual and religious assault, bad attitude, weight shaming, and even fostering a toxic working environment while they were on tour.

Now, a new statement from her own touring company denies all the allegations again.

Lizzo Accusers Lied?

The company has since called the lawsuit a "fabricated sob story" which was filed "out of spite and in pursuit of media attention, public sympathy, and a quick payday with minimal effort."

In August 2023, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams and Noelle Rodriguez publicized the lawsuit against Lizzo, where they accused her and her dance captain of sexually and religiously assaulting them, among many other grave accusations. (via NBC News)

Lizzo has since denied the allegations too. Now, her touring company, which was also named in the said lawsuit is filming a motion to dismiss it.

"Plaintiffs missed flights, arrived late and hungover to rehearsals and drunk to performances, entered into consensual sexual relationships with male crew members on tour, exhibited a rapid decline in the quality of their dancing and professionalism, and ultimately conspired to make and disseminate an unauthorized recording of a creative meeting with Lizzo and the dance cast," the new motion says.

The touring company also maintains that they have never witnessed the Grammy-winning singer body-shame anyone nor be on the giving end of harassment. Fans were especially disappointed with Lizzo following the publication of the shocking remarks.

Lizzo has been a champion of body diversity and inclusivity, so hearing that she was accused of doing the opposite was a huge surprise to many.

The dancers were even backed up by an Oscar-nominated director who pulled out of creating a tour documentary for Lizzo because she was treated poorly and with disrespect by the singer herself.

Lizzo Recognized Amid Lawsuit

Last September 2023, Lizzo was recognized by the Black Music Action Coalition with the Quincy Jones Humanitarian Award. It came at a time when fan outrage was at a high.

"Black Music Action Coalition, y'all really are about that action. Thank you so much for this, because I needed this right now. God's timing is always on time!" she addressed the crowd when she received the award. "I didn't write a speech because I don't know what to say in times like these."

If the judge wouldn't dismiss the lawsuit, Lizzo is facing a trial by jury to fight the lawsuit.
