Despite not being active on social media, Britney Spears' sister Jamie Lynn has recently been swamped with criticism due to the release of her older sister's tell-all memoir.

The revelation of their strained relationship has invoked a flurry of Britney fans who have taken to social media and tagged Jaime Lynn's name in disparaging messages.

One comment made on social media read, per OK magazine, "How can someone be so cruel to their sibling? Knowing what happened, it's hard to believe anyone could sleep at night."

Another user exclaimed, "It's abhorrent for what has been done here - taking advantage of someone else's fame and remaining insignificant!"

Meanwhile, others noticed that Jamie Lynn had recently liked a post by Christina Aguilera on Instagram - someone with whom Britney's past relationship was not always friendly.

"Oh no, not Jamie Lynn," one person remarked about the double tap of pictures of the "Reflection" singer costumed as Cher.

Another analyst noted she has been favoring Justin Timberlake, NSYNC's and Christina's IG posts for a while now.

More social media users feel that Jamie Lynn is attempting to start something petty by doing so.

This reignited discussion among fans, with one writing, "Xtina do not want this gal anywhere near u!" followed by another replying, "Jamie Lynn Spears... get a job, stay away from her."

Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera

Britney Spears has discussed the conflicting emotions she experienced upon seeing her one-time beau, Justin Timberlake, alongside Christina Aguilera on a Rolling Stone cover in 2003.

The pop princess wrote in "The Woman In Me," "Him in a black tank top, looking at her with s--- eyes, her looking out at the camera, wearing a lace-up black shirt."

"In that story, she said she thought Justin and I should get back together, which was confusing, given how negative she'd been elsewhere."

Christina Aguilera Dodges Britney Spears-Related Questions

Ahead of the memoir release from pop star Britney Spears, journalists asked singer-songwriter and fellow pop star Christina Aguilera whether or not Spears had reached out to her.

Christina received an interesting question last month during an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live." Will she be featured in Britney Spears' upcoming memoir, "The Woman in Me"?

After all, they grew up together while working for the Mickey Mouse Club.

When asked by Jimmy Kimmel whether Britney had gotten in touch with her, the singer of "Beautiful" replied simply, "Dude, I don't know."

She expressed that though she wished for only good things for Britney, no contact had been made. Her outlook remained optimistic as she concluded, "I think the future should be celebrated."

Christina was trying to dodge the funny man's question of whether or not she wanted to be part of the juicy read. Playfully, she replied, "Let's put it this way: I'd rather it be you than me. So hopefully you'll be in it. You'll make the book."
