The 80s superstar will be joining the cast of "Moulin Rouge!" on Broadway.

The flamboyant artist will be playing the role of Harold Zidler, the enigmatic and fabulous owner of the said club.

Boy George Joins 'Moulin Rouge'

Sharing the news on Today, Boy George announced that he would be taking his first bow on Feb. 6, 2023, until May 12, 2023.

George also mentioned that playing an ensemble member is something that he is particularly thrilled about doing.

"Just being part of an ensemble is really fun," he explained. "You can't have an ego, because there's too many people. It's about fitting in, especially because everyone's been doing this show for a while. So, hopefully, they're going to teach me."

According to Playbill, Emmy-nominated actor and singer Tituss Burgess is currently helming the throne, until Dec. 17, 2023. Eric Anderson will return for the role after Burgess' departure until before George takes over.

Per the publication, Courtney Reed stars as Satine, "Riverdale" star Casey Cott stands in as Christian, André Ward as Toulouse-Lautrec, Gabe Martínez as Santiago, David Harris as The Duke of Monroth, while Sophie Carmen-Jones as Nini.

According to Billboard, this is not the first time that Boy George would be on Broadway. In 2003, he had his own Broadway musical, "Taboo."

The autobiographical musical features his life and the founding of his band the Culture Club and the New Romantic club scene in London, England.

It was nominated for four Tony Awards in 2004, including Best Original Score, Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical, Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical, and Best Costume Design.

When the show started on the West End, it earned four nominations too - Best Costume Design, Best Performance in a Supporting Role in a Musical, Best Actor in a Musical, and Best Musical.

Boy George 'Karma'

While Boy George is not yet on Broadway, he's busy promoting his new autobiography "Karma." (via Today) The memoir will be released on Nov. 9, 2023.

He has since described the story to be the "drama, the music, his journey of addiction and recovery, surviving prison."

"It's really been fun to kind of address some of the things I've been through since the last book. I discovered who I really am as a person. You know I really like being me," he said in a statement. "I'm over that kind of existential crisis of being famous. I enjoy it now. I embrace it in a way that I wasn't able to as a young person. I'm able to say I love being Boy George. It's fabulous."
