Taylor Swift saw a spike in streams after updating a lyric of her track, "Karma," as a nod to Travis Kelce during her Eras Tour.

Swift surprised her fans during one of her Eras Tour stops in Buenos Aires when she performed her track, "Karma," which she released as part of her "Midnights" album in 2022. Instead of "the guy on the screen," she sang "the guy on the Chiefs" which left the Kansas City Chiefs tight end blushing.

Taylor Swift's "Karma Streams" Skyrocketed

A few days after changing the lyric, Luminate released the data showing that the sales and streams for Swift's "Karma" increased the day after the singer changed the lyric.

On Sunday, November 12, streams spiked nearly 22 percent. It jumped from 817,000 the day before to 993,000 after. Its sales also jumped more than 117 percent in just one day, hitting a total of 783 units.

The new numbers put the track back to number 11 on the iTunes sales chart as of Tuesday, November 14.

Speaking about the change in lyric, Kelce spoke to his brother Jason during the Wednesday, November 15, episode of their "New Heights" podcast and said he had a little clue but was still surprised over the move.

"I had no clue. Well, I might have had a little bit of a clue, but definitely when I heard it come out of her mouth, it still shocked me," Travis told his brother. "It was like, 'Oh, she really just said that!'"

Kelce was recorded smiling brightly and covering his face and head after hearing Swift sing the track.

Taylor Swift Referenced Travis Kelce Again

Although Kelce left Argentina after reuniting with Swift for a short time, he left an impact that the "Lover" singer referenced him again after the three-day Argentina show using his usual word, "electric."

"I'd never been to Argentina before and they gave us the most electric, magical memories," she said. "Thanks to the amazing fans whose show was postponed Friday for coming back Sunday and blowing us away with your passion and excitement. See you next weekend, Rio!!"

Kelce notably uses the word whenever something good happens.

Swift will continue her Eras Tour in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo in the next coming weeks.
