Brenda Lee decided to sing for her fellow airplane passengers with a good ole Christmas classic, 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree," but she was faced with backlash online-especially after what happened to Bobbi Storm last week.

The 78-year-old singer, who is known for her hit songs "I'm Sorry," "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree," "Losing You," "Sweet Nothin's," and more, was criticized for singing in the plane by netizens.

"Oh Brenda Lee is trying to beat Mariah at all Costs," one wrote, referring to the Queen of Christmas, Mariah Carey.

"She thinks she's Jessie J," another added.

"A for effort I guess."

"Live entertainment on airplanes now?"

"I got scared, I thought she is Anabelle," another added, referring to the haunted doll.

Bobbi Storm Upsets With Live Performance

The news of Lee performing live in a plane comes a week after another singer, Bobbi Storm, was almost kicked out of a Delta flight for singing.

Unlike the Christmas music hitmaker, the gospel singer, who just learned that she just got two nominations for a Grammy Award, was told to sit down and stop singing by the plane's crew.

"Are you going to be quiet?" the airline's employee asked, and Storm responded, "But they're enjoying it."

"I'm not enjoying it, so I'm asking you to please be quiet," he replied. "That's a yes or no answer please."

While the singer was defending herself, the employee declared, "I'm your flight leader, I need you to follow my instruction. If you're not able to follow my instructions, you will not be able to take this flight."

Bobbi Storm's Video Goes Viral

Since the singer's video went viral last week, several netizens shared screenshots or clips from that video to Lee's video, alluding that she is also disrupting the flight and being a nuisance.

Aside from the references, many called Lee out for "trying to be like Mariah," and clowned her.

"Flying Southwest. Oh, Brenda is broke," one wrote.

"You will never be Mariah Carey you parasite! return to the caverns of the misty mountains!"

"She's 2 minutes of turbulence away from an emergency medical landing."

Despite the negative comments the singer is facing, Lee was once a beloved artist. She earned several Grammy Award nominations during her prime, including a nod for Best Pop Female Vocal. She is a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as well as the Country Music Hall of Fame.
