In late 2021, Toby Keith received a devastating news as he was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Fortunately, the musician continues to stay strong amid his cancer treatment and he has a positive outlook on life regardless of his health condition.

Speaking with Taste of Country, the country legend revealed that he feels great in the present and he is in the point of his life where he's really comfortable.

"I feel great today... I finally got it in a spot where I'm really comfortable with it. I'm feeling good and I'm off of chemo and I'm rolling. We're just going business as usual, going forward," he told the outlet.

Although he said he's not afraid anymore, he admitted that it was scary for him at first when he was diagnosed with the illness.

Toby Keith Recalls Getting Diagnosed With Cancer

Before he got diagnosed, the musician revealed that he lost an acquaintance. At the time, he and his college friend were playing golf, drinking beers, and had the best time with that person even though it was the first time he met him.

When that friend of his went back to Oklahoma City, he received a call from his friend saying he had two weeks to live and he died after ten days.

The following month, he got diagnosed with cancer and his son's fiancée doesn't have a father so he presented himself to walk with her down the aisle.

"I ain't afraid anymore. John Wayne this son of a b***," he said.

Toby Keith to Perform in Las Vegas

A few days from now, the Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee will be headlining two shows at Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas.

The musician will take the stage on December 10 and 11, 2023.

It appears that he's excited to see his fans again as he noted in an announcement: "I'm back, come see me. You'll have the best time, I will too. We'll never forget it. Can't wait to see you there. Let's go," added Keith."

This was not his first performance in a while as he also made a comeback at the People's Choice Country Awards after taking a break for 18 months.
