Two months have passed since Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd's separation, yet the country singer appears to be exploring new romances.

A source shared to Life & Style that at 33 years old, the star is "already asking friends to set her up on dates." Despite sharing a three-year-old son, Hayes, their union had been slowly unraveling beforehand.

The source stated that it has been a trying period, yet Ryan and her remain close companions. However, she wants to begin anew and enjoy herself more. "She wants to have a little fun!" they said.

Documents obtained by Us Weekly reveal that Maren Morris has filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the cause.

Me First

Heading into the new year, Maren Morris is adopting a "me first" approach. Though she may be single, the country star tells ET that she's not in any rush to mingle.

"Just, not answering to anyone and not having to protect anyone's feelings but my own and put myself first," Morris tells the outlet. "And I think that's going to be an empowering 2024."

Fortunately, she has someone to support her during this difficult time.

"Many of my friends are going through the same thing right now," she says. "And, like, all their therapists or psychics have said, '2024, you need to be single.'"

To cope with her heartache, Maren has been turning to songwriting to find comfort and adapt to the new life she faces. Although it can be difficult initially, she is gradually adjusting.

"There's a lot of personal stuff right now I'm wading through, processing, writing through," the singer-songwriter explained.

"I'm giving myself the time to do that and not having to rush a huge personal thing through an album being delivered. It's going to take a little bit longer than I had hoped, but I have to trust the process."

The Start

In 2014, Maren and Ryan paths crossed once again after being apart for many years. After three years of dating, they decided to take the plunge and get married in 2018.

It's no wonder that music is so closely linked to their relationship, as it was how Ryan and his partner had originally met.

"We were paired together six years ago to write a song, and from there, our love blossomed," Maren recounted fondly. "Now that we are both artists, the chaos of simultaneously getting married and touring can be a bit hard to manage at times!"
