Halle Bailey was not able to proudly show off her baby bump throughout her pregnancy since she kept it a secret and hidden underneath oversized and flowy dresses.

However, the "The Little Mermaid" star is finally coming out of her shell to share her long-awaited maternity shoot--which was done underwater.

Halle Bailey Shares Pregnancy

After months of hiding her baby bump, Bailey is finally ready to unveil everything that went on between the nine months she carried baby Halo.

And apparently, the reason why the pregnancy was a secret was to "protect [her and DDG's] baby and relationship from scrutiny," a source said.

The only ones who were aware of it were close friends and family, the source added; "But it was all very strange to those around them, especially when she has had such a huge year in movies."

Halle Bailey Faces Backlash For Hiding Pregnancy

According to reports, Bailey even faced backlash for hiding her pregnancy; many speculated about it and even noted that she had a "pregnancy nose," to which she addressed.

"Listen, if I see one more person say something about my nose one more time, it's going to be hell to pay," the singer slash actress said. "You know why? Because I'm Black. I love my nose. What are you concerned about my nose for? Leave me the hell alone."

According to reports, for months, netizens could not stop speculating about Bailey's pregnancy.

Many pointed out that she kept wearing oversized clothes and flowy dresses to hide it; it came to a head when the star showed up at the MTV Video Music Awards wearing a loose, flowy dress, compared to her twin sister, Chloe's figure-hugging denim dress.

Aside from keeping her pregnancy to herself, Bailey also keeps her romantic life private for "[her] peace and [her] sanity."
