• Kid Cudi Joining 'Comedy Bang! Bang!'

    Kid Cudi continues to expand his artistic profile beyond the realm of music. Increasingly recognized as an actor, Cudi -- real name Scott Mescudi -- is taking on a new role where he will be co-hosting the IFC improv show 'Comedy Bang! Bang!' alongside Scott Aukerman, also the co-producer and director of 'Between Two Ferns.'

    Jack Black has another hit. The Tenacious D frontman has faded from movie stardom since his "School of Rock" and "Tropic Thunder" days, but he is still hard at work in the film business. His latest project, "The D Train," features himself and James Marsden in starring roles. The movie had plenty of people talking at this weekend's Sundance Film Festival, where Fox Searchlight and Lionsgate reportedly did battle for it before IFC finally grabbed its rights, according to "The Hollywood Reporter."

    IFC's "Comedy Bang! Bang!" kicks off a new season Friday, Oct. 17, and the show shared a preview clip recently of an upcoming episode. The Brooklyn-based band The National will be featured this season, and the band members show up in a hilarious sketch about helping out schools in need and making fun of Arcade Fire, Consequence of Sound notes.
