Perhaps NBC News was really wise to bring back Andy Lack to try and save the day because it is going to take someone with solid experience to right this ship. He was with the network from 1993 to 2001, and in that time solidified 'Today' and 'NBC Nightly News' and also groomed Brian Williams so Tom Brokaw could retire, leaving their evening news program in good hands. Lack knows how to maneuver through scandals and disastrous ratings, which is good since he is now dealing with both. 'Nightly News' struggles to hold the top spot, but MSNBC has hit an all-time ratings low during the first quarter. -
MSNBC Apologizes for Guest's 'Let's Go Kill Some Muslims' Comment Regarding Country Music
A guest commenter on the MSNBC program Now With Alex Wagner came on a little hot when she declared that "nothing says 'let's go kill some Muslims' like country music." The quote came from Ebony.com senior editor Jamilah Lemieux, discussing Ted Cruz's recent comments that he had become a country music fan following September 11. -
'Morning Joe' Somehow Blames Hip-Hop for OU SAE Racist Chant
If you are having a great day, then you probably should not watch the below discussion MSNBC's 'Morning Joe' had earlier today, March 11, because it is just depressing. The roundtable discussion found a way to blame hip-hop and alcohol, notably Waka Flocka Flame, after video of students in OU's SAE fraternity surfaced, yelling racist chants on a school bus. -
Fox News Ranked Top Cable News Network for 13th Year in a Row
The end of the year means the television networks take a look back on the previous 12 months and analyze those numbers. Apparently, when it comes to news, Fox News not only crushed its competition, but this is actually the 13th year in a row that it is America's top cable news network. According to a report by Deadline, Fox News is doing great among all the cable networks as well. As 2014 ends, FNC celebrates its 13th consecutive year as the most-watched cable news network, though it, too, has had its disappointments. Overall, FNC is down 4 percent in total viewers — 1.05 million — the same percent in news demo viewers, though it finished laps ahead of its competition in both metrics, Deadline said. FNC rings out the year ranked No. 4 among ad-supported, basic-cable networks in overall primetime audiences, behind ESPN, USA Network and TNT. It also ranks No. 4 in total. CNN and MSNBC are way back in the 20s and 30s, said Deadline.
