• Skrillex Delivers Speech at Solaris Festival on EDM's Future [WATCH]

    Sonny Moore, known to most as Skrillex, has always been one who preaches about the positivity found in dance music, even when he was enemy No. 1 for many dubstep fans as he first became popular. The star DJ and producer performed at the Solaris Festival in Toronto, Canada, and turned down the music to give an inspiring speech on love and acceptance and his vision for dance music in 2015. The speech comes at a fitting time, since there had been a brawl in the crowd the night before at the same festival. Solaris Festival hosted disc jockeys like Kaskade, Skrillex, Boys Noize, Tchami and Adventure Club over the two-day event this past weekend. He will be performing on New Year's Eve at Madison Square Garden alongside Diplo, which you will be able to stream live into your living room.     Live Nation will stream Diplo and Skrillex's New Year's Eve concert extravaganza at Madison Square Garden this week. Fans who want to see the Jack Ü performance can tune into Yahoo Screens at 10 p.m. Dec. 31 and see all the action. And if that does not suit your plans, the performance will also be available to watch the following day, Your EDM notes. Jack Ü formed in 2013 after the EDM artists decided they liked to DJ together. Their first single, "Take Ü There," dropped in September and the pair continue to be pretty tight. They recently remixed Beyoncé's "7/11." Skrillex spoke to Howard Stern last month about a variety of topics, including the legitimacy of the EDM genre, which is frequently criticized.

Only one of these parties were lucky enough to have Skrillex show up and play his brand new remix of Beyoncé "7/11" alongside Diplo as a part of their super-duo Jack Ü. Premiering the remix at the holiday party in Los Angeles for his label, OWLSA, Sonny Moore, also known as Skrillex, performed a frenetic 70 minute set, which included the new Bey remix. Diplo confirmed it was a Jack Ü remix on his Instagram, saying it was a present for Chrimbus.

    Skrillex and Diplo are just a week away from the biggest show of their lives. On New Year's Eve, the duo, known as Jack Ü, will be headlining Madison Square Garden with the help of Rudimental, Yellow Claw and A$AP Ferg. The duo spoke with "Time Out" magazine in preparation of the show to speak about Jack Ü, the New York club scene and the aforementioned show at MSG. Even for a massive venue like Madison Square Garden, which can pack close to 20,000 people, Skrillex still holds the belief that it will "feel intimate and personal." "We don't have a real rock-star approach with security all around us. It'll be a party. We'll have lots of special guests come out," he says. Diplo adds, "You'll be hearing some of the Jack Ü songs we've done, live, for the first time. The artists we've cut the records with will be performing with us. Both of us take it very seriously; if you've ever seen us perform live, you'll know the production value is insane." He even invited the entire New York Knicks team to shoot warm-ups during their set. Unfortunately for Diplo, the team will be in Los Angeles for a game against the Los Angeles Clippers, but that is probably for the best since the team probably would miss most of those pre-game shots. Diplo gave an honest opinion on the EDM scene, proclaiming it "dead."

There will surely be plenty of special guests coming to party with OWSLA, possibly the "Recess" DJ's partner in crime Diplo for their duo Jack Ü and plenty of others around in the Los Angeles area where the OWSLA offices are based.

    Many festivals wait months to release their festival video recap as it takes some time to cut the footage and edit it together. Plus, event companies usually wait until they can use the footage as a promotional tool to announce the following festival or help sell tickets for the next year. Stereosonic just threw that model out the window by releasing their aftermovie two weeks after the festival wrapped up, putting together a 6 minute movie filled with crowd shots, interviews with some of the acts who graced the stages around Australia and plenty of clips showing off the massive crowd and production.

More headliners will be announced soon, but Alesso, Knife Party, The Man, Portugal and Lindsey Stirling are already confirmed.

They have done several mixes on different radio stations, including on Triple J during their time on the Stereosonic tour, going back to back and Skrillex was joined by RL Grime and What So Not for another three hours of music.

Even after gathering names like Lorde, Diplo, Skrillex, Flight Facilities, Flume, Ben Folds, Reggie Watts, Gotye, Kingswood, Alt-J, Disclosure, The Presets and of course Rick Atsley into one room, the group of artists were unable to get anything going.

    Last night, Australian radio might have gotten its biggest collection of mixes ever on air. With the Stereosonic tour in its final weekend, Aussie radio station Triple J was able to tab four of the biggest touring artists — Skrillex, Diplo, RL Grime and What So Not — along with local up-and-coming act Carmada to join the program to spin a back-to-back-to-back-to-back, three-hour mix. The first 80 minutes saw Skrillex and Diplo take over the decks live as Jack Ü before turning over to a short session from Carmada. RL Grime took over the airwaves next with the aid of Skrillex and their airtime spilled over into What So Not's mix in the last hour of the show. Diplo and Skrillex were just on Triple J the day before to discuss their Jack Ü project and what they had coming up when they mentioned this mix. They said they had no idea what they were going to play, yet they still deliver another outstanding frenetic mix filled with tunes from each artist, their labels and some exclusives as well, via "Dancing Astronaut."
