As guitarist and vocalist Daniel Zott told Music Times, Ken Griffey Jr. Jr. or Hank Williams Jr. Jr. would have worked too (he wasn't aware Hank III already existed). His band set out to play pretty melodies and meaningful pop music, not represent a band name.
