Bodies and Debris Being Recovered from AirAsia Flight 8501 Crash Site
Families of the 162 passengers aboard AirAsia Flight 8501 are grieving this morning, as it has been confirmed that the wreckage has been found in the ocean about 6 miles from the Airbus's last-known location. About halfway into the two-hour flight, the crew encountered extremely bad weather early Sunday morning, Dec. 28, and when Capt. Iriyanto requested permission to climb to a higher altitude, he was denied. Two minutes later, the controller told him that it was safe to proceed to 38,000 feet, but got no response. Loved ones held out hope for more than two days, only to have the worst confirmed early this morning, Dec. 30.AirAsia group CEO Tony Fernandes has attempted to handle this tragedy with great care and has been nothing but supportive and empathetic toward the families who were waiting for official word.Today, Fernandes tweeted, "My heart is filled with sadness for all the families involved in QZ 8501. On behalf of AirAsia my condolences to all. Words cannot express how sorry I am."He has since flown back to Surabaya to be with the grieving families. He also has chartered a flight to take them out to the airspace over the Java Sea to say their final goodbyes to loved ones in the area where they lost their lives. -
Jennifer Aniston Is Wrapping Up a Great Year and Could Care Less About the Paparazzi
Jennifer Aniston might easily be wrapping up the most satisfying year of her career. Sure, she has made no apologies for loving all those years she spent playing Rachel Green on "Friends," but this year has been different. She took a risk by playing a stripped-down, chronic pain sufferer in the indie film "Cake," and the critical acclaim has come. She has already been nominated for an SAG and a Golden Globe for that performance, and many are anticipating an Oscar nod as well. While she cares about all the award buzz enough to have hired someone to guide her through it, she could care less about the paparazzi.Aniston recently did an interview with Yahoo Beauty's Bobbi Brown and explained how, when it comes to dealing with photographers chasing her, she now chooses not to give it much thought at all."The truth is you just go, 'If they get a picture, that picture comes and goes, so who cares?' Then you have 30 mean people who sit at their computers and spend their entire day picking apart and insulting celebrities about how ugly they are just so they can feel better — I guess — about themselves. I don't understand it," said Aniston. -
The Prodigy Tease New Single 'Nasty' Release Date From Upcoming Album
U.K. electronic band The Prodigy appear to be breaking their studio silence at last and are ready to release some new music very soon. Very little information has emerged about the new album except that Liam Howlett was busy writing and recording, but sometime in the spring of 2015 the album was tentatively scheduled for release. Now they have provided more details about possible new music by teasing the cover art of their new single "Nasty Nasty" on Instagram. The song will apparently come out, according to the caption, sometime in January, though they will not reveal the exact date. -
Action Bronson Attempts to Apologize to Azealia Banks: 'Chasing Time' Rapper Calls Him a Coward
Azealia Banks and Action Bronson are back at it again. Hip-hop's foremost Twitter beefer, Banks, first got into it with Action Bronson on Dec. 19 after the "Easy Rider" rapper was prompted to discuss Banks on the social media platform. That 140-character battle went back and forth before simmering and Banks turned her attention back towards her favorite target, Iggy Azalea. Today, tensions renewed between these two after Action Bronson apparently tried to apologize over the whole ordeal through a mutual friend of theirs and Azealia Banks did not appreciate the lack of forwardness from Bronson and called him out on Twitter. -
Jessica Alba Claims that She Is 'Squishy' from Not Working Out as Much
Jessica Alba might just be one of the busiest celebrity moms around. When she is not chasing after her two daughters with husband Cash Warren, she might be reading lines for her current acting gig. Or she could be in the boardroom completely proving that she is more than capable of running the million-dollar company she founded, The Honest Company. In January, you will find Alba covering the latest issue of "Natural Health."While the actress admits that she rarely gets through a business meeting without candy and popcorn, which are office staples, she still often comes under fire for being extremely thin. Alba has always worked out a lot and has admitted it, but she claims her reasons for doing so are different now."I didn't appreciate working out when I was in my 20s. It was purely for work, and I hated it so much. It was just brutal. Now I enjoy it, because it's 'me' time and a stress-reliever. It's fun to mix it up. And I really like to work out with friends. They keep me accountable. I like how I feel after a workout. I'm a little squishy right now. It's fine. I don't care," says Alba in her interview with "Natural Health."It sounds like perhaps all these years under the microscope of Hollywood has left Alba with a little bit of a distorted body image because it is hard to imagine anyone calling her squishy, especially when she was just ripped apart for looking anorexic in a recent photo that she posted from a vacation in Thailand. -
Bet On What Song Above & Beyond Will Play At Midnight This New Year's Eve
Las Vegas has taught us that you can bet on just about anything, especially when it comes to sports. How long the national anthem will be during the Super Bowl, what side of the coin the coin toss will result in, weight loss, treadmill challenges and everything in between. This New Year's Eve there will be a pretty outrageous bet surrounding UK based trance super-trio Above & Beyond and what they might play for their final gig of the year. You can bet on what song Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness, and Paavo Siljamäki will play when the clock strikes midnight in Australia. -
YG & DJ Mustard Are Beefing On Instagram
Apparently YG and DJ Mustard did not get the message about being kind during the holidays. The rapper and producer are now sending jabs back and forth on Instagram over purported payments that DJ Mustard alleges he never received for YG's debut album My Krazy Life. DJ Mustard executive produced the album that was released in March. YG posted an expletive-laden comment on a now deleted DJ Mustard post rebuffing those claims, making his own claims of not being paid for Mustard's recent album and the two have been going back and forth since then. -
