• Music Industry and Indie Retailers Clash over Universal Album Release Date: Would Monday or Friday Work Best?

An issue that music fans outside of the industry rarely think about is what day works best for releasing music? We in the United States have been comfortable with Tuesday as the weekly release time for most albums, however other nations have taken other approaches: The UK gets its new albums a day earlier, on Mondays, while Australia gets them relatively late on Fridays. Why does it matter? Those involved in the industry around the world feel that a universal release date-the same for every country-would make promotions and preventing piracy easier. The problem is different parties can't decide on which day would work best.
  • Migos's Quavo Addresses Chief Keef GBE Chain Robbery in 'The Truth' [LISTEN]

A beef that started with a song has now returned to the craft that both parties espouse as their way of life. Migos and Chief Keef are back at it after Keef's GBE crew reportedly jumped Migos after their show in Washington, D.C., at the club Stadium. The fight, described as a "bloodbath" by a source at "Allhiphop," has since spilled over into social media and thankfully nowhere else. Now Quavo has released a song titled "The Truth" calling out the people who took his chain, calling them "little boy" numerous times throughout the tune.Quavo claims to know who took his chain and where they live, saying "we got your address and we know your name."He starts off the song with a phone call with a friend who tells him that Fat Trel from D.C. was involved in the robbery and took his chain. Quavo delivers his warning to his foes for stealing his chain, belittling them in the process. Quavo tells his side of the story of how the chain was stolen and forewarns that this fight is not nearly over yet — they should crawl into a "spider hole":Little boy don't play with meDo you know who I am?Little boy don't play with me
  • Thanksgiving Parody: Elementary Students Sing Garth Brooks's 'I Got Friends in Low Places' as 'I Hate Yams in All Places' [LISTEN]

There is nothing like a good, old-fashioned Thanksgiving parody. DJ Richie Philips at WGNA in Albany, New York, got some elementary school students to sing about their least favorite holiday dish: yams. The kicker? The song is titled "I Hate Yams in All Places" and it is set to the tune of a little ditty made famous by Garth Brooks called "I've Got Friends in Low Places," Taste of Country notes."It's Thanksgiving Day, there's food that we hate / There's also some foods that we like," the children sing, trying to nail down the melody. "When it's all on my dish, and they serve me fish / I'd rather be out on my bike."The students really give it their all in the video below, and it all comes to a climax at the reworked chorus."I hate yams in all places / I'd rather chew on my shoelaces / But it's only right to be polite / It's only right to tell my mother / Feed those yams to my brother," they sing.
  • ABC News Gets Exclusive First Interview with Ferguson's Darren Wilson

Less than 24 hours after learning that there would be no indictment in the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown, we were all handed embattled Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson's first interview. While it was confirmed that Wilson had met with several journalists last week, he ultimately decided to speak on the record with ABC News heavyweight George Stephanopoulos, according to Yahoo! News.It was the first time Wilson has been seen in public in months, and he told his side of what happened during that violent altercation with Brown Aug. 9. According to "Time" magazine, Wilson claims that he feels like his conscience is cleared because he was doing his job by the book, and if he did not stop Brown, then he knew he would have been killed by him. He also made it clear that from his standpoint race was irrelevant and it would have ended the same way even if Brown had been white.
