We've spoken often about the drop in album sales in recent years and recent weeks so it's sadly not all that surprising that the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that more than 30,000 jobs were lost between the music and motion picture industries since the beginning of the year, bringing the total number employed within those industries to just less than 300,000 according to Billboard. -
Primal Scream Guitarist Robert 'Throb' Young Dead At 49
Robert "Throb" Young, former guitarist of legendary Scottish alternative rock band Primal Scream, was found dead in his apartment on Tuesday (Sept. 9) afternoon. He was 49 years old. The cause of death has not yet been determined, though The Guardian reports that police are not treating his death as suspicious. -

A stunned silence washed over a Pretoria, South African court room today as Judge Thokozile Masipa let it be known that she has not found Oscar Pistorius guilty of premeditated murder. In a long, detailed statement the presiding judge informed those in attendance that she didn't believe that the prosecution presented a strong enough case to convince her that Oscar had intentionally fired four shots through a bathroom door intending to kill his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. -

Goodman loved to go into the studio with various artists and watch them get lost in the process of making music. He also said in a new interview that he loved connecting with musicians through interviews and finding common ground. One thing that Goodman didn't love was Kurt Loder, a writer for Rolling Stone that bashed music television until being offered a job by MTV. -
