David Bowie isn't the only rock star today to be getting his own honorary day from an American city. Consequence of Sound reports that Sept. 17 (which is today) has been declared Foo Fighters Day in the city of Richmond, Virginia by Mayor Dwight Jones. This declaration comes on the same day that the multi-platinum rock band has agreed to perform a crowdfunded show at Richmond's National Theater, which will be the first time the Foos have performed in Virginia's capital city in 16 years. -

According to Consequence of Sound, Metallica will be releasing recordings of all 27 shows they performed this year in a massive box set titled Live Metallica: By Request 2014. The collection will include Metallica's controversial headlining set at Glastonbury and their acoustic set at the MusiCares MAP Fund Benefit Concert. The other 25 shows were part of Metallica's "By Request Tour," in which their setlists were chosen by fans. -

Though the Rolling Stones haven't released a new studio album since 2005's A Bigger Bang, they have released four live albums since then, and this year we'll be getting some more. Ultimate Classic Rock reports that this November, the Stones will be releasing two live albums to kick off their 'From The Vault' series: Hampton Coliseum - Live in 1981, which documents a show during the band's Tattoo You tour, and L.A. Forum - Live in 1975, which comes from the band's "Tour of the Americas," their first with guitarist Ronnie Wood. -
