Chvrches covered British boy band East 17 on BBC's Radio 1 Live Lounge
Scottish electro-pop band Chvches made a stop at the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge yesterday in support of its debut album The Bones of What You Believe, and they decided to mix things up a bit. Instead of just playing a few of their recent hits like "The Mother We Share," The trio made an unexpected choice to cover British boy band East 17's 1994 single "Stay Another Day." -
Ryan Book's Playlist of 2013: Lorde, Kanye, and Kvelertak
Music Times, like so many other music publications, was looking to publish a "Best of 2013" playlist. We met to discuss what such a playlist should include, and that's where we ran into trouble. We couldn't agree. Sometimes two of us just couldn't agree on whether the performer was amazing or terrible, and even when we agreed they were amazing, we couldn't agree on what track was most representative of their work. Hence it was decided that rather than try to agree (a seemingly impossible endeavor), everyone would get their own "favorites of 2013" playlist. We won't argue that these are neccesarily the best tracks of the last year, but they're definitely songs that caught our respective attention and caused us to hit 'repeat" over and over and over again -
New York City's SubCulture Underground to host first annual holiday series
Beginning tomorrow, December 17, and going through December 22, SubCulture: Arts Underground will host its first annual holiday concert series. If you're in the New York City area for the holidays, the series promises to feature some of the city's top musicians within jazz and classical as well as singer-songwriters and Broadway acts. -
Wale threatens Complex editor over failure to include 'The Gifted' in Best of 2013 List
A few rappers have seen their works popping up on an awful lot of best-of year-end lists this month. Among them: Kanye West, Chance The Rapper, Eminem, Run The Jewels, Pusha T. Not included in that list is Wale, whose The Gifted got a range of both good and bad reviews, but certainly didn't merit universal acclaim. Still, the emcee was less than pleased to learn that his LP couldn't even make Complex magazine's 50 Best Albums of 2013 list. -

Lorde announces 2014 North American tour dates [SCHEDULE]
Following the Friday release of her latest single "No Better," Lorde has announced her first full-fledged North American tour in support of her debut album Pure Heroine, which has earned her "Best of 2013" nods with the chart-topping single "Royals." The 17-year-old New Zealand star will hit the road in March. -
Queen suggests it may work with Adam Lambert again during 2014, perhaps a tour?
Don't get too excited yet, as it's only a rumor, but members of Queen have suggested the group may be going on tour with Adam Lambert as vocalist once again. Drummer Roger Taylor described during an interview why Lambert is pretty much the best option to replace original singer Freddie Mercury. -
