    And the top-earning woman in music is .... Madonna. According to Forbes' 2013 list, the singer pulled in $125 million this year. The bulk of her payday came from the final leg of her MDNA Tour, which grossed $305 million overall. According to Rolling Stone, she supplemented her income with merchandise sales, her Material Girl clothing line and her "Truth or Dare" fragrance.

Today he offered a teaser of his first-ever solo album in a 20-second YouTube video. The black-and-white clip films Albarn at a piano playing chords over a tapping beat.

    For the third year in a row, music site Songkick has compiled a list of the "19 hardest working bands" in show business. The list takes two factors into consideration: the performers' total number of shows played, combined with the total distance travelled to play those shows. This year's winner was Local Natives: The rock band played a total of 188 shows (more than any other act on the list), while traveling around 192,486 km.
  • Black Lips releases tracklist for upcoming album 'Underneath the Rainbow'

    Atlanta rock band Black Lips have announced their seventh studio album Underneath the Rainbow. According to Rolling Stone, the 12-song effort was recorded this year both in New York with the Budos Band's Tommy Brenneck and in Nashville with the Black Keys' Patrick Carney.

    Nelson Mandela had an impact on all parts of culture, and not just within South Africa. Tributes and dedications have poured in from around the music world, and now SiriusXM Radio is putting together a limited-run radio station in order bring it all together. The Nelson Mandela Channel will play on SiriusXM channel 111, beginning at noon on Friday and continuing through December 15.

    Foo Fighters performed their highly anticipated Mexico City gig last night. The show at Foro Sol marked the first time the band has played in Mexico. According to Setlist.fm, the band alternated between playing its greatest hits, songs off 2011's Wasting Light and covers of The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Tom Petty.
