Probably the most highly anticipated album in recent memory, Kendrick Lamar's follow-up to the critically acclaimed good kid m.A.A.d city has everyone buzzing and hungry for any information or piece of the effort they can get their hands on. One lucky man, Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg, was given a short private preview of some of K. Dot's new material, which will presumably be featured on the LP. He described the four songs he heard as "not anything like what you've heard from Kendrick before."

After his Hot 97 interview with Lamar earlier this week, Lamar let him listen to the four tracks and told him it would be dropping sometime in early 2015.

"If this album is anything like what I heard we are in for a treat," Rosenberg on the most recent edition of The Realness. "Yes, Kendrick Lamar somehow has developed even more, gone to another level. He's talking about Black righteousness. He's talking about Africa. There's social commentary. There's all kinds of deep thoughts...There are deep thoughts throughout, however, it is upbeat music that is gonna thrive in the club and on the radio. However, just like good kid m.A.A.d city, you can hear there's no attempt to make club music.

He also addressed the song "King Kunta," which HBO music director has already praised.

"This music that I heard, specifically a song that a lot of people are buzzing about called 'King Kunta' it is not anything like what you've heard from Kendrick before," he explained.

"It's not like anything else that's out there right now. It is, however, phenomenal. Upbeat, driving bass, drums, heavy drums. I heard four songs, and the sampling that I heard was amazing. A lot of people have given me a hard time because I hitched my wagon so-to-speak to the Kendrick Lamar train. Listen, I don't do it very often," he continued. "There's certain artists that I'm willing to push my chips in because I'm confident in the product we're gonna get, Kendrick Lamar, chief of among those artists. And guys, don't be mad 'cause I got it right. This next album is gonna be as good as good kid m.A.A..d. city. It may be even on a different and higher level. Early 2015, new Kendrick album. And I promise you when these songs come out that I heard yesterday, you are all gonna say ...'Rosenberg, you got it right again.'"

Lamar spoke The Breakfast Club earlier this week and said he'll know when the album is ready when he starts "tampering with things I shouldn't be tampering with. Me in the creative space, I'm so much of a thinker, everything is technical and has to be masterminded to how I hear it and feel. When creating an album, I'm big on that — it's not just one song, but a body of work."
