It's pretty obvious Lady Gaga likes to be "different." The Popart singer has never been happy to be related to another pop star. In fact, she recently explained to CR Fashion Book that she's attempting to reach the top of her career with the inspiration of heavy metal--Iron Maiden specifically.

Sporting the band's t-shirt for her interview and photo shoot, Gaga admitted, "They're one of the greatest rock bands in history, in my opinion. Some people really don't know the importance of metal and the scope of it. Those guys were filling stadiums, and they still are. And it's because of the culture of the music, the poetry that's so powerful, that whenever the fans come together, they unite in the essence of what Iron Maiden is all about."

If any superstar is known for their budding relationships with their fans, it's Gaga, who has always encouraged and communicated with her "little monsters" fan base, establishing relationships via social media. The "Bad Romance" singer continued to explain that metal bands and their fans thrive when they connect over musical identity.

"I always used to say to people when they would say, 'Oh, she's the next Madonna' - 'No, I'm the next Iron Maiden.'" The real Iron Maiden doesn't show any signs of stopping and giving the title to Gaga. The band's latest two-LP album, The Book of Souls, is slated for release on September 4 with a world tour to follow, UltimateClassicRock reports.

Lady Gaga will appear in the fifth season of FX horror anthology, American Horror Story, for its Hotel themed season in which the 29-year-old singer/songwriter will portray Hotel Cortez owner Elizabeth/The Countess. Getting in the spirit, she recently invited the cast of AHS to her house where she invited guests to swim in a dyed, blood-red pool.
