After capping off a joint tour with Tony Bennett, Lady GaGa is preparing preparing to make her TV debut as the lead "evil character" in the upcoming season of American Horror Story: Hotel.

The FX series is preparing to shoot its fifth season and the show's creators and cast members recently spoke to the Television Critics Association about what fans can expect from Hotel. Though GaGa was absent at the Q&A, it was revealed that she will have a starring role, playing a character named Elizabeth, the owner of Hotel Cortez and she'll be a decidedly "evil character."

Horror Story creator, Ryan Murphy, spoke further on GaGa and the major role she'll play in Hotel's plot development: "She is a very wealthy social doyenne who is consumed with art, fashion and people and she has a nefarious plan that is revealed in the first episode that plays out over the season."

Other actors spoke on their characters' particular relationships with GaGa (Elizabeth) in the upcoming season and it seems Elizabeth will be the romantic and/or sexual desire of three different characters, the actors of whom each played prominent roles in previous seasons.

Finn Wittrock will play Tristan Duffy, a man plagued with addiction who "finds the biggest high in Lady GaGa [her character]." Angela Bassett will play Ramona Royal, "a fabulous actress of the day" who frequents GaGa's hotel. She says her character will likely be at odds with Matt Bomer's character, Donovan, due to their mutual affection for GaGa.

GaGa is set begin shooting on Monday (August 10) in Los Angeles, where the show will take place. American Horror Story: Hotel will premiere on October 7 on FX and will run through the end of January.

GaGa hit the stage last month with U2 at Madison Square Garden. Watch their rendition of "Ordinary Love" below.
