News about One Direction's hiatus in 2016 is just two days old, but news is already spreading like wildfire about the potential solo careers of the "Drag Me Down" band's four remaining members. According to new reports, Harry Styles is already a hot solo commodity and Sony Records desperately wants the pop star on its roster.

According to rumors from The Sun, Sony is courting Styles for a solo deal, citing his status as the most popular boy in 1D.

"Harry has always been One Direction's most popular member and it's obvious that we want to secure him - he's a global superstar. Zayn [Malik] will get to release an album first, as he left the band earlier, but the most excitement is about what Harry is going to do. Everyone wants to know what his solo material will sound like, there's also a lot of pressure to get it right," a source at the label said.

Styles is aiming to be what Justin Timberlake became after his time in NSYNC, because apparently the 21-year-old is also looking to break into the world of acting. He already has the eye of some film industry execs, including the legendary Harvey Weinstein.

"There's no question he will enter the movie business. I get from him that he wants to. When you meet him, he's super-charismatic. He came to our Oscars party last year and then I went out to lunch with him. I think the guy is a movie star. He doesn't have to audition for me," Weinstein said about Styles earlier this year.

As for now, news of Styles solo career remains pure speculation. However, it is confirmed that beginning in March 2016 One Direction will go on "indefinite hiatus" to pursue other projects following the release of their fifth studio album.
