Kim Kardashian and husband Kanye West recently welcomed a healthy baby boy into the world, but something was missing from his birth certificate: his name. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star opened up to People about the delay in choosing their son's name and how her late father might play a crucial role in the decision process.
The Wests introduced their newest bundle of joy to the world early Saturday morning (Dec. 5). The baby is already a few days old and the couple still hasn't chosen a name to fit their newest addition, or at least that's what they want fans to believe by withholding the moniker from the public.
All hope isn't gone just yet. While in the hospital, the 35-year-old reality star reportedly mentioned the idea of using her late father's name, Robert, as their son's middle name. The youngest and only boy of the Kardashian children was also named after the high-profile attorney.

Waiting to think of the perfect name is nothing new to the celebrity couple. The mother of two revealed it took nearly a week to come up with a name for their two-year-old daughter North, ultimately deciding on a cardinal direction.
“It’s like the last thing Kanye and I did when North was born,” Kim told People. “We didn’t name her for like seven days. I feel like it will just come to us.”
There's a strong chance North's parents are simply taking a minute to soak up some quality time with their first son, before giving away his name to the media. A source close to the "All Day" rapper told People West never shared any details about the name, because he didn't want to tell anyone until his son was born.

Who can blame them? After suffering through a "painful" ECV procedure to turn the baby from its breech position to a hysterectomy scare, the only focus was to make sure both Kim and the baby were safe and healthy.
In the meantime, family and friends continue to visit Kim at the Los Angeles hospital until she's well enough to be released. West remained by her side in the delivery room, while Kris Jenner and sisters Kourtney and Khloé showed their support by staying with her through labor.
