Katy Perry is not the "Dark Horse" or 2014... the pop megastar is slaying it. Yesterday (July 29), YouTube announced that Perry tops its list of most-played music videos of the year thus far with her smash Prism single.

According to Billboard, "Dark Horse" (feat. Juicy J) is the site's most played music clip of the year worldwide. As of Music Times' press time, "Dark Horse" has racked up an incredibly impressive 494.7 million views since its Feb. 20 posting.

The success of Perry's "Dark Horse" comes even after the music video achieved some controversy. Just one week after the video's posting date, Muslims became upset at the video when a sign of Allah was burned to a crisp with sorcery from Perry.

The video has since been edited to remove the Allah symbol.

The rest of 2014's most popular videos reflect a global taste and, of course, World Cup fever.

The most-liked person on Facebook Shakira, ranks at Nos. 2 and 3 with her music videos for "Can't Remember To Forget You" feat. Rihanna and "La La La (Brazil 2014)," her unofficial World Cup anthem. Those clips have 358.8 million views and 264.1 million views, respectively.

The worldwide spin on the YouTube videos is also reflected by the inclusion of Enrique Iglesias, whose singles "Baliando (Español)" and "El Perdedor" came in at Nos. 5 and 10.

American mega hits both viral and traditional also cracked the top 10, with singles from The Chainsmokers, Iggy Azalea and Idina Menzel of Disney's Frozen also ranking high.
