Despite being missing from the spotlight for decades after frontman Kurt Cobain passed away, Nirvana, whose other members include Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl, has remained to be one of the most iconic bands of all time for their music. Recently, they continued to dominate charts with the help of a specific movie.

According to Power 96 Radio, a certain song from the hit 1991 album "Nevermind" has appeared in the 2022 superhero blockbuster "The Batman."

Billboard reported that the track "Something in the Way" debuted for the first time in Billboard after the movie's official trailer was first released in 2020.

Later on it reached a surprising no. 2 spot on Rock Digital Song Sales and no.45 on the Digital Song Sales charts of all genres.

Four days after the DC Comincs film hit theatres, the song amassed 3.1 official streams within the United States.

The increase was over 734 percent as it first got 372,000 streams.

Last year, "Nevermind" celebrated its 30 years. The album amassed numerous success including hitting the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 a few months aftrer it dropped.

Kurt Cobain Was One of Matt Reeve's Inspiration For 'The Batman'?

In an interview with Empire in December, director Matt Reeves noted that Kurt Cobain inspired his interpretation of Bruce Wayne for "The Batman," saying he listens to his music whenever he writes.

"That's when it came to me that, rather than make Bruce Wayne the playboy version we've seen before, there's another version who had gone through a great tragedy and become a recluse," he added.

Reeves added that he started making connection to Gus Van Sant's "Last Days" and he came up with the idea of fictionalizing Kurt Cobain inside a "decaying manor."

Aside from Nirvana's hit track, there are also numerous songs who made it to the movie's official soundtrack.

The complete list include Franz Schubert's "Ave Maria," Patrick Topping and Kevin Saunderson's "Frisk," "Tesla" by Corvad, "Hot 44" by Baauer, "Troop" by Peggy Gou, "I Have But One Heart" by Al Martino," and Dean Martin's "Volare (Nel Blu Di Pinto Di Blu)"

The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as Batman, Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as Riddler, Colin Farrell as Penguin, and many more.
